DERMAL FILLERS - A NATURAL ENHANCEMENT

Dermal fillers, sometimes referred to as just ‘fillers’ are something that get a bad reputation in the aesthetics industry. This is mostly due to the fact that they can occasionally be over applied when not being carried out by a conscientious professional. At Naturally Flawless we love the use of dermal fillers which can achieve some great results for our patients. We know just how to use them in the right way to ensure they give the most flawless results, enhancing your natural features whilst giving you a refreshed feeling.

Our patients always have lots of questions where dermal fillers are concerned, so below you will find the answers to some of the most frequently asked dermal filler questions at our Derby aesthetics clinic.

What are dermal fillers used for?

Dermal fillers can be used to enhance the structure and volume in your face. As we age we loose collegen in the skin and this is what provides the the volume and plumpness that we have when we are younger. The loss of collegen is what contributes to the look of aging as the skin sags and looses its structure. The use of dermal fillers can help to restore the appearance of volume in the skin, which provides an overall more youthful look.

Where can dermal fillers be used?

Dermal fillers can be used in a range of places on the face to achieve a refreshed look. This will depend on the needs of the patient and in our Derby aesthetics clinic we will invite you to have a consultation with us so that we can offer you the best advice from our years of experience. This may include having dermal fillers in an area of your face you had never considered before. Our professional team will always advise you on the best locations on your face for dermal fillers to be applied based on your desired goals.

The typical areas dermal fillers can be applied are lips, cheeks, chin, jaw, tear trough, temples and marionette lines. At Naturally Flawless, we will only apply dermal fillers to an area if we think it will benefit you and assist in you achieving a natural enhancement to your appearance.

What will dermal fillers do for my face?

Dermal fillers will help to restore volume in areas of the face where you may notice it disappearing with age. Not only will they help to restore volume but will also smooth fine lines. On top of this dermal fillers can help to provide structure in the face which has disappeared over time. Supporting with concerns such as unsymmetrical facial features, dermal fillers can be used to align your appearance and can provide a lot of confidence for the patients we use them on.

What do dermal fillers contain?

Dermal fillers are mostly made up of ingredients which are naturally occurring in the body, such as hyaluronic acid. At Naturally Flawless we use the industry leading brand Teoxane which includes patented RHA resilient hyaluronic acid®. This signature groundbreaking ingredient ensures optimum hydration, considers the skin barrier and smooths the skins surface to maintain integrity. We only use the very best products on our patients at Naturally Flawless and we have been professionally trained in the administration of Teoxane dermal fillers.

Are dermal fillers just lip fillers?

Dermal fillers can be applied to the lip area, amongst many others. For a while lip fillers were the most requested area for this type of aesthetics treatment. Growing in cultural popularity, the lip filler trend is also sadly where dermal fillers got their bad reputation, due to many procedures being badly administered or over done. However, lip fillers are not a bad thing when done in the right way by a trained professional who has a strict policy of naturally applied aesthetics. They can provide a great deal of enhancement around the mouth area for many patients who are unhappy with this area or who are experiencing signs of aging.

Lip fillers can also be a wonderful treatment to help with correction too. Our patient pictured here was born with a cleft lip which was repaired at birth. She approached our Derby aesthetics clinic to see if dermal filler to the lip area would help with balance and symmetry to this area of her face. Both this patient and us at Naturally Flawless are delighted with this outcome. This is a perfect example of the power of dermal fillers done right.

How long will dermal fillers last?

Dermal fillers can vary in the length of time that they will last for depending on the area they have been used. However, a good guide is around 6-12 months. The recovery time for dermal fillers will be around 2-3 days in most cases. This is to allow time for redness, swelling and bruising to subside. These are all natural side affects from the treatment and will subside within a few days leaving you will beautifully natural results.

Will anyone be able to tell I have had dermal fillers?
